The hit singer hasn’t released a single since 2016 and it makes you wonder… is the beauty industry THAT profitable to keep her away from her passion of creating music? When will Rih Rih hop back in the studio?
The answer is: Cosmetics. Cosmetics are without question stuffing the pockets of the millennial business maven.
Not that she needs it, but the international superstar continues to drop major money-making moves, all in the world of cosmetics… and fashion
Fenty’s cosmetic line, was “inspired to create Fenty Beauty after years of experimenting with the best-of-the-best in beauty—and still seeing a void in the industry for products that performed across all skin types and tones. Starting with Fenty Beauty foundation, she launched a makeup line
“so that people everywhere would be included,”
focusing on a wide range of traditionally hard-to-match skin tones, creating formulas that work for all skin types, and pinpointing universal shades.
In its first year, the now 32-year-old songstress and business woman raked in $543,277,500 through Fenty Beauty. Last year, Rih Rih’s latest venture teamed up with LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy), the world’s largest luxury good company, joining a lineup of 70 fashion brands who sell a wide range of clothing, accessories, and shoes for its core fashion and leather business.
According to Forbes, Fenty grew Rihanna’s net worth from $210M to more than $600M, last year alone.
According to Billboard, reports indicate the Fenty earned 7.6 million from streaming, 2.5 million from sales, and $10.1 million in royalties in 2016. (The year Fenty Beauty launched)
High-profile money manager, Claude Brodesser-Akner shares, “very few” top-tier celebrities live within their means, which is unsurprising. What is surprising are the following figures.
“Here’s what an artist has to accomplish in order to earn the U.S. monthly minimum wage of $1,160:
- Sell CDs at Retail. Land a high-end royalty deal that pays $1 per album sold, and sell 1,160 albums in a month.
- Sell CD Downloads on iTunes or Equivalent. Land another cushy royalty deal that pays $0.94 per album downloaded, and sell 1,229 albums in a month.
- Stream Songs Online. Fans must stream a song more than four million times in one month for the artist to earn the monthly minimum wage. The artist only makes $0.00029 every time a song is streamed.”
Can you blame the singer for exploring alternative options for securing the bag? Here’s an image of Rih Rih singing, go ahead and save it, because with figures like those just shared, sis won’t be on anyone’s studio/stage again anytime soon:
