Gabrielle Union is a true queen, who has shown time and time again that she will stand for Black women and look good while doing it! Throughout her career she has displayed timeless beauty, so it’s only right that she was chosen to host the Black Beauty Roster (BBR) digital summit coming up on February 28.
The free event is set to delve into obstacle of diversifying the beauty industry. According to Variety, Gabrielle Union has not only experienced the disparity of Black stylists, but she’s has sought many ways to remedy the problem as well.
“Early in my career, I struggled to work with beauty professionals that were trained to work with my hair texture and skin tone,” Union said. “I can’t emphasize enough how important the work is that Black Beauty Roster is doing to transform the industry and ensure every individual who sits in a beauty professional’s chair walks away feeling flawless.”
Recently, Union created her own hair care line together with her stylist Larry Sims. The line, called Flawless by Gabrielle Union, features products that cater to specific hair textures.
Along with Gabrielle Union and Larry Sims, makeup artist Sir John (whose clients include Beyoncé and Chrissy Teigen), hairstylist Vernon François (whose clients include Lupita Nyong’o and Serena Williams), and more will be attending the summit!
